Salim Al-Kupar is one of Sly Cooper's ancestors and a playable character in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.
Salim hails from Arabia and in his younger days, he was a formidable thief and even the leader of a group of forty thieves. However, all but three of them retired, living the rest of their lives in luxury. Salim and the three remaining thieves were to go on one last heist, when the three were captured.
When Sly and the gang arrive in Arabia, they find out that all of the thieves have pretty much retired, with Salim about to do the same. After finally finding him, Salim joins them in helping rescue his friends, although he shows that he isn't particularly fond of being told how to do his job.
He also shows that he is somewhat lazy, but in the end, he does help rescue all of his friends. His special move, the Climbing Cobra, allows him to quickly climb ropes and chains. After helping Sly gain access to where Miss Decibel was, he helps them again in Le Paradox's Blimp. At the end of the game, we find out he finally retires and dreams up a business opportunity, which is to park his camel around town and sell snacks to hungry customers.
