Draven was once a human that now resides in the Eternal Throne as an undead in Darksiders II. Little is known of his human life, besides being a skilled warrior, but upon his death he was given the chance to escape his fate by conquering the arena. Despite emerging victorious, he was betrayed and forced to become a slave to the Lord of Bones - a fate worse than death.
Gaining respect for Draven's help and honor, Death offered to free Draven from the Dead King's service through death. Draven refused, choosing instead to bide his time for revenge.
