Guan Ping is the eldest son of Guan Yu, although he was adopted when he was 17 years old. He doesn't have a big part in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, as he was captured by Sun Quan along with his father, and executed. Guan Ping is depicted as a brave general, although due to his young age, he can be naive and reckless.
His appearance in Kessen II stays true to the novel, where he appears as Guan Yu's adopted son. Dynasty Warriors 5 was his first playable appearance in that franchise, with his weapon being a very large sword, and he has appeared in every game since then. He has also appeared in all three Warriors Orochi games, where he used the same type of weapon.
