Morrigan Aensland is a character from the Darkstalkers series of games, with her first appearance being in Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors.
Morrigan is a succubus and is considered as one of the main characters of the series, alongside Demitri. The ruler of Makai, Belial, determined that Morrigan would become the successor to him, but since she was so young and her powers so strong, he split her soul into three parts. The first part would remain as Morrigan, with the second being sealed inside himself. The third part was sealed in another dimension and would eventually become Lilith.
Morrigan tended to ignore anything other than enjoying herself and searching for things to enjoy. This first led her to the human world, where she would encounter Pyron. When she arrived back in Makai, she would learn of Belial's death and the fact she was the successor to the throne. She doesn't want to become ruler, instead opting to continue her life as it is. In her Darkstalkers 3 ending, she fuses with Lilith and becomes whole again.
