Kite is a character and the main protagonist of .hack//Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, and Quarantine. His real name isn't known, but he is friends with Yasuhiko, who goes by Orca in the game, who is the one responsible for Kite to start playing The World. However, an event happens in the game that makes Yasuhiko go comatose in real life. This prompts Kite to start investigating why real world people are going into a coma, which makes him meet with BlackRose. He is a kind hearted person, usually dropping everything to help someone.
Kite has appeared in a few games outside of the above, such as .hack//Versus. He also appears in the crossover game, Project X Zone, where he is partnered with BlackRose.
