Skull Kid originally appeared in Ocarina of Time on the N64, and later appeared in Twilight Princess on the Wii and Gamecube as an enemy in the Lost Woods. He can also be found hidden in places throughout the Lost Woods in Twilight Princess.
In Ocarina of Time, Skull kid is crucial to the mask salesman sidequest, and you find him in the Lost Woods playing his flute atop a treestump. Once you gain the skull mask, he'll buy it from you for ten rupees less than you originally paid for it (tight so and so). Skull Kid claims that no one wants to play with him and that the other children bully him, so he wants a way to hide his face and look more impressive. When targeting him Navi responds by saying "watch out" as if you were targeting an enemy, and claims that this is what happens to children who get lost in the woods. If you go to visit Skull Kid as an adult he will proceed to attack you and if you fight back, he just disappears.
Skull Kid appears in the sequal to Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, as the host for the main antagonist. The game is set in the seven years that Link missed out on when he drew the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time. Skull Kid makes two friends, the fairies Tatl and Talil and they are happy for a while, until Skull Kid stumbles upon Majora's Mask and decides to wear it as a joke. Over time, Skull Kid becomes more possessive of the mask and becomes aggressive to his fairy friends, until he is completely overwhelmed by the mask's power. The game follows Link as he is thrown into Termina, an almost parallel world to Hyrule, and Skull Kid has summoned the moon to crush Termina in three days. You later find out that Skull Kid is possessed by Majora's Mask and becomes host to an ancient demon, Majora.
