Call of duty is a first and third person computer/console game franchise. The series began on pc then later came to consoles and handhelds. Several spin-off games have also been produced. The early games in the series have been set around world war 2 these games include call of duty, call of duty 2 and call of duty 3. Then the franchise shifted to modern times, producing call of duty 4: modern warfare then came call of duty world at war then call of duty modern warfare 2 next came black ops set in the cold war. Next came modern warfare 3 which was set in the near future Then last but not least is black ops 2 which takes place in 2025.
The handheld titles include; call of duty finest hour, call of duty 2: big red one, call of duty: roads to victory, call of duty:world at war: final fronts, call of duty: modern warfare: mobilized, call of duty: black ops ds, call of duty:world at war:zombies 1 & 2, call of duty: the war collection and call of duty: black ops declassified.
There were also two known titles that were cancelled, call of duty: devils brigade ( this game was set in ww2 and focused on the italian campaign) and call of duty:combined forces (this game was supposed to be a cod finest hour sequal)
