Oblivion is an open world action role playing game and the fourth installment of the popular Elder Scrolls series. It was published by Bethesda Softworks and the Take-Two Interactive subsidiary 2K Games for PC, X-box 360 (March 2006) and later PS3 (March 2007 in the US, April 2007 in the EU and Australie).
The game is set in the province of Cyrodiil; the central most province in the continent of Tamriel. The player character starts imprisoned for a unknown crime and is surprised by arrival of Emperor Uriel Septim VII and a contingent of his personal bodyguards known as 'the Blades'. They are fleeing from assassins belonging to a cult called 'The Mythic Dawn' and use a secret passage in the player characters cell. Early events lead to the Emperor entrusting the player with the Amulet of Kings and tasks him/her with its delivery to a man anmed Jauffre. The player then enters the world of Cyrodiil and like previous games, is free to choose his/her own destiny.
