You start out on a ship, seeking answers for why you keep seeing the past. You'll see Triton Soldiers climbing on board the ship and when you gain control, you'll be pitted against five of them. It is best to stick with a Square, Square, Triangle combo to launch them into the air. Whenever you see their tridents glow blue, dodge away from them as they will attack. Once they're dead, three more will appear, so kill them too.
Go to the door and press Circle to kick it open, then go down the stairs to the room below. More Triton Soldiers will attack, so keep attacking and dodging when needed to finish them. There's a chest with a green light on your right, which when opened, will release green orbs that will restore your health, so open it if you need it. Before you go up the stairs, break the items to the left of the doorway and then the door itself to reveal a chest with red orbs, which are needed to upgrade weapons and magic.
Go up the stairs and kick the door open to get back outside. You'll see little spider-looking creatures, called Cursed Wretches, and tentacles attacking your fellow soldiers. First, kill the Cursed Wretches, then keep attacking the tentacles blocking your way, while dodging the one in the back, which will attack now and then. Once the first tentacle moves out of the way, more Cursed Wretches will appear, so kill them until they stop appearing.
Keep attacking the second tentacle until it raises, allowing you to slip underneath, as it will slam back down onto the ship. When you get past the second one, kill more Cursed Wretches, then attack the tentacle at the end of the ship. Keep attacking until it falls down and a Circle appears above its head, which when pressed will initiate a mini-game. Some enemies later on in the game will have quick time events during these mini-games, but this one doesn't. A cutscene will occur, with the monster grabbing and destroying your ship.
BOSS FIGHT - SCYLLA
Welcome to your first boss fight and boy is it a big one. Fortunately, he's pretty easy, as its attacks are pretty basic and can be blocked. As soon as the fight starts, hold the block button and wait for the monster to attack three times in a row. This will likely push you to the back of the arena, so once it stops attacking, run forward and attack its head. Keep doing this until it rears back and all kind of orbs come flying to you; do this twice to finish the first portion of the battle.
For the second phase, it will move to your left. It will first release some Cursed Wretches, so keep attacking them like you were before, and you'll likely be attacking Scylla at the same time, too. It will do this twice before moving back to the same spot at the beginning. Keep attacking until it finally plops its head down on the bridge, where you'll see the wheel on the ledge above you becoming loose. Hit Circle to grab it, then rapidly push Circle until the hook is inserted in Scylla's head. Press Circle again to begin the mini-game that will end the fight, for now.
BACK TO THE ACTION
With Scylla gone for now, jump onto the ledge above the wheel you used before. Head around the corner at the top of the screen to find a red orb chest. Jump up to the next ledge and open the chest there for a Gorgon Eye; finding 6 of these will increase your maximum health. Jump up and grab the rope to slide down to the next area, where you'll land in some water.
Kratos is able to swim in the game, so pay attention to the buttons you need to press that appear on your screen. He doesn't need to breath, so you can stay underwater indefinitely. Hold R1 and release it to break through the wooden planks ahead of you, then open the red orb chest behind them. Swim to the surface, jump onto land and save your game at the light.
