Star Wars Weapon
Some of you may have already noticed it or have yet to notice this little hint Im giving you If youre ever stuck and cant figure out a puzzle and theres no danger around for Yorda like those shadow monsters let go of her hand and let her wander around Sometimes she will wander over to your solution or a hint to it For example after the gates closed and the queen came to tell me to back off from Yorda I couldnt quite figure out what to do I was standing by the gate and I noticed that Yorda kept walking up to the unlit torches I walked up to examine them and found that I could move them Yorda helped to find the solution to one of the puzzles in the game So remember when your stumped watch Yorda closely
Alternative Ending
The game must already have been completed in order for this to work Right at the end of the game when Ico wakes up on the beach make your way all the way over to where the cliffs are and continue your way up the beach Along the way you should come across a large rock there should also be a couple of watermelons situated near this large rock Pick up one of these watermelons and proceed up the beach until you reach Yorda You will now be treated with a slightly humurous end video This does not work on the US version of the game
Avoid losing Yorda
To avoid losing Yorda as soon as you set her free press R1 and hold her hand then run to the door You should also pick up the stick that falls so you can defeat the Shadow Creatures easily
Destroying the Smoke Creatures easily
If you enter a room and it is a clear run to the portal on the other side take Yorda by the hand and run her to the portal with the black Smoke Creatures chasing you As you approach the portal Yordas activation of the portal will create lightning which will destroy the creatures anywhere near you
Enable 2 Player Mode
This code does not apply to the North American version of the game
Play and finish the game once wait until the credit finish and once you get control of ICO search for Yorda beside the sea shore After the final ending you will be prompted a save screen Save it and restart the game with Yorda controllable 2nd player and 5 different background music screen to choose from
English subtitles PAL version
Upon completion of the game not only do you get to control Yorda and have different music but her subtitles are now in English rather than in hieroglyphics

Finding Yorda
When in the last level with Icos horns cut off on the beach go towards the left following the shore of the beach to find Yorda
Mace weapon
After reaching the top of the waterfall area to the left of the switch you pulled is a tall tree Swipe at it with your sword until you make contact A ball will fall from its branches Take the ball up the stairs into the opened room and drop it You will notice tree arches between the two stairs going to the upper level of the room Go to the middle arch and push on one side of it to make it revolve and reveal a secret room Go back and take the ball and Yorda and enter the secret room Hop into the idol pedestal with Yorda and a basket will appear Take the ball and shoot it into the basket A mace will fly through the window It is more powerful then the sword and the 2x4 You can take out a standard Ghout in three swings
To get the Mace you do not need to do the quotget the ball in the basketquot routine Before getting on the idol pedestal actually place the ball in the square on the ground where the basket will appear When you step on the idol pedestal the ball will fly up and land back in the basket
Star WarsLike Weapon
This code applies to any nonUS version of the game only
With 2 Player Mode enabled play the game through the waterfall and reach an area where you get the mace by throwing a ball into a box at the first play Please refer to FAQ for this side quest This time a Starwarslike Weapon will fly in instead of mace
This weapon is very powerful and will kill the shadow within 12 hits And the weapon will be prolonged to triple the size of the sword if you grabbed Yordas hand when attacking Even longer than the original Star Wars lightsaber
SuperJump
This will only work on the PAL version of the game
Survive Big Fall
OK right when you get the princess from the cage and go out side near the bridge save on the couch Then as most of you know when your halfway over the big bridge it some will fall apart when the girl goes over Now go there by yourself call her over and jump so your hanging on the side of the bridge where the rubble will fall As she continues over the bridge it will crumble and Ico whos still hanging will fall only hes still alive Hes hard to make out and control but if you zoom in you can see him walking on the ocean below
Turning wheels
When turning big wheels as when shutting off the water turn from the farthest point to go faster
