Movement
The Prinny is moved with the standard right of left on the D-Pad to walk, down to duck, and X to jump or double jump.
Prinny Spin
When holding Circle, the Prinny will start spinning until it begins to glow blue. When this happens you are invincible to any sort of enemy attack in the game, but are still vulnerable to hazards.
Dash
During a Prinny Spin press right of left on the D-Pad and Circle to Dash. This speedy movement can only be performed when the Prinny aura is on.
You can jump or slide during a dash by hitting X or down on the D-Pad.
Attacks
There are two main attacks: the first is the basic slash which is performed by pressing Square and the other is the Prinny Barrage, which is performed by pressing Square in the air. Both attacks slash as much as you press button, up to a certain limit.
Hip Pound
By pressing Down + X, while in the air, you can do a Hip Pound attack that can stun most enemies, and help to stun bosses.
Throwing
By pressing Triangle, you can pick various things such as bombs, barrels, and stunned enemies and throw them by pressing Triangle again. Throwing a bomb will make a small explosion and throwing a stunned enemy that is low on health will cause an explosion that works the same as a bomb.
Prinny Raid
Prinny Raid is a special attack that you unlock by completing the game once and can be used by pressing and holding R + Square. This attack does a lot of damage, but it constantly drains your remaining Prinnes.
Stringer Spell
This special attack is purchased from the Facilitiesand is used by pressing R + L + Square. Hero Prinny's scarf glows and flies out, morphing into Etna's spear and starts spinning outwards. The damage caused by the spear depends on the level of the spell and it causes stun.
There are 3 types of Stinger: Omega, Tera, and Peta with one use per purchase.
Prinnicide
This Special Ability allows you to make yourself explode and has no use in combat, though it sure is fun and allows you to return to a previous checkpoint.
Break Attacks
Break Attacks are only available in Break Modes (Standard or Score - see below).
Husky Hip Pound
In the air press down and hold X to perform a powered up version of the hip pound. The longer you hold X the more the move will charge up and do more damage. You can release X at any time to perform the attack, but letting the attack charge to max and auto performing causes maximum damage.
Prinny Cyclone
While on the ground, hold Circle to perform a Prinny Spin during break mode to cause your scarf to turn into an arm that causes damage when you're close to an enemy.
Prinnikaze
While in the air, press R + Square to release all of the Break Mode energy and dive diagonally downward, slashing through enemies while being completely invincible. Once on the ground your forward movement is treated as a dash, and as such, you can do a dash jump or slide to cancel the move. This move ends Break Mode.
Break Mode
Unlike the Combo gauge in the previous Prinny game, this one functions as a new Break mode. There are 3 types of Break modes in the game, with only 1 will be available at the beginning of the game.
Once the combo gauge fills up by doing the following:
- Activate a checkpoint
- Obtaining a Break Donut (completely fills up your combo gauge)
- Stun an enemy with a Hip Pound
- Damage an enemy with an attack
- Collect sweets (1000 points worth of sweets = full combo gauge)
- Use certain items/moves to increase the combo gauge
Hero Prinny will enter Break mode and the combo gauge will start to drop. Once the gauge is empty, Break mode will end. You can keep the combo gauge filled up by doing the methods listed above.
Standard Break
The Default Break mode, when active a burst of lightning goes down on the Prinny and causes massive damage to nearby enemies and objects. Additionally, Standard Break will doubles your attack damage, making rapid attacks more potent against enemies.
Classic Break
Unlocked by beating the game, Classic Break is actually the combo gauge from the first game, meaning you will not have access to Break Attacks. Instead, you are rewarded with sweets and scarfs/diapers when you fill up the gauge.
Score Break
Unlocked for collecting 52 Lucky Dolls, Score Break focuses on score bonuses by having all sources of Score multiplied by 4 when activated. The disadvantages to Score Break is that you will have no invinsibility aura, no Prinny Cyclone, hitting a wall during a dash or dash jump will cause you to instantly explodes and dies, and no damage increase during break mode.
