Unlike a lot of handheld Tales games Innocence has a world map to traverse as well as the more traditional elements such as dungeons and towns and various means of transportation.
Battle System
Tales of Innocnence uses the DI-LMBS a modified version of the originals system. The system still combines Tales of Abyss's free roam feature with the Tales of Destiny remakes ability to use skills in midair, but it aslo added the Rave system. Each time the character successfully hits the enemy it fills up their Rave Gauge the Rave gauge has for levels and each time a level is obtained during battle a new skill is usable during the fight.
Styles
Al characters in Tales of Innocence can equip styles. Once equipped styles allow the characters t gain certain paramater boost. Styles also level up once they reach a certain level the style give the respective character skills that can be used during battle.
Artes
In the tales series Artes are used to dish out extra damage aside from typical character combos. In general these abilities are learned over the course of the game by leveling and in some cases side events. Moves are usually designated to one button and 4 artes can be mapped Linking these moves with your normal combos is the bread and butter of the Tales series in terms of being offensive.
