The Tales franchise is a series of fantasy Japanese role-playing video games, published by Namco Bandai Games (formerly Namco) and primarily developed by its subsidiary, Namco Tales Studio.
First started in 1994, with the development of Tales of Phantasia, the series now spans 14 games in the main series and an extensive list of spin-off games for other genre and handheld systems. Of the 14, only 8 games have been localized in North America and Europe, with the 9th, Tales of Xillia, announced for release in 2013.
