The Witch and the Hundred Knight is a role-playing hack and slash game that follows the adventures of the Hundred Knight, who are controlled by the swamp witch Metallia.
Deep within the forest, there live two witches: the beautiful marsh witch, Metallia, and the ugly forest witch, Malia. Embroiled in a century-long conflict, Metallia wants to coat the world with swamp mud while Malia protects the forest and its inhabitants from the noxious fumes of the nearby swamp. Then one day, Metallia finds a legendary soldier slumbering in the depths of darkness, toppling the 100-year balance.
Stages
Unlike most games, where players progress from area to area and rarely return to their starting location, Metallia's house is the base of operations, where the Hundred Knight will return to rest and refill often. Outside the swamp, the game is split into stages, with each section requiring the player to clear it before continuing to the next area. However, once cleared the player can revist an area to find new paths and stages from that area.
Depending on the players actions when clearing a section they may obtain bonuses.
Giga Calories
Hundred Knight may be a demon, but he still gets hungry. As the Hundred Knight explores the areas of Medea his Gcals meter, indicated by the circle in the upper left corner of the screen, will decrease. Depending on the player's actions, this may happen slowly or quickly, but once it reaches zero Hundred Knight will be forced to return to the swamp to refresh himself.
While returning home may be useful, other times the player may wish to stay in the area by replenishing their Gcals. Replenishing Gcals can be done by weakening an enemy and then consuming them.
Giga Calories are not only used to limit the time players can spend on the field though. When exploring the player may come across darkness, making it impossible to explore further, but by using Gcals to clear the darkness.
Towns and NPCs
Although the game is a hack and slash and majority of the game will take place in combat, there is still a good deal of side quests and rewards available by talking to NPCs in town.
Be careful though as the Hundred Knight can also refuse and attack residents of a town, antagonizing them and causing the town to regard him as an enemy.
Item Synthesis
Not much is know about item synthesis, but it is known that there will be some form of item synthesis available in the game.
Pillars of Temperance
Although Metallia's main goal is to defeat Malia, she also wants to cover the world in swamp land. To do this the player will frequently come across Pillars of Temperance, hidden across the world. In order to spread the swamp, and provide additional power to Metallia, the player must bloom them by attacking it, but be careful as many of the pillars are guarded by powerful monsters.
Combat
As a hack and slash the player will spend a fair amount of time in combat, so understanding the basics is important to survival and domination on the field.
Health & "Death"
The Hundred Knight's health is indicated in the upper left by the HP bar that when depleted will result in the demon returning home to the swamp; as he is undead and can not not die. However, all items gained while out exploring will be lost.
AP & Grade

Tactical Conversion
The Hundred Knight can equip up to five weapons simultaneously, chaining them together for a 5-hit combo. The higher the combo achieved, the stronger each attack becomes.
Weapons
The five weapons that Hundred Knight can equip each have their own strength and weakness:
- Sword: Great for slashing it has balanced range and speed.
- Hammer: Used to crush enemies with a high critical hit rate, this weapon has a short range and is slow to swing.
- Lance: These babies inflict high damage and have good range, but the narrow striking area makes them difficult to master.
- Staff: Used for casting spells, each magic varies in target type and can be used for single or mutiple hit attacks.
- Spear: These classic polearms very in type, but their circular attacks can hit multiple targets and inflict decent damage.
Attack Elements
There are three attack elements in combat: Slash, Blunt, and Magic.
To inflict greater damage, use the element that the enemy is weak against. Be careful though, as the Hundred Knight is also weak to these and the enemies' weapons carry their own attack elements.
Sub Actions
Sub Actions can help control the outcome of a battle by either dodging attacks at the very last moment to activate Mystical Dodge, making Hundred Knight invincible and slowing time temporarily, or using Extra Chain to bolt to the nearest enemy and inflict the next attack in a weapon combo.
Chaos Revelation
Finally, Hundred Knight can release his locked potential by using Chaos Revelation, which will consume Gcals at a rapid pace until there are none left, but increase his power to defeat even the most dangerous foe.
