A Hat in Time revolves around the story of Hat Kid, a young girl with a magical hat. This hat gives her the power of interstellar travel. However, this gives her the responsibility of protecting time by collecting time pieces. Another kid, Mustache Girl, is also searching for the time pieces, and she plans on using them for devious purposes.
Hat Girl explores multiple worlds while searching for the time pieces while time itself is falling apart. While she races Mustache Girl, she must also survive dangerous locations and many enemies, such as the Mafia.
