Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs takes place on New Year's Eve, 1899. The game follows main character Oswald Mandus, a wealthy industrialist who is somehow involved with child labor. After an expedition to Mexico goes wrong, Mandus becomes ill with a fever and haunted in his dreams by a dark machine. Upon regaining consciousness in his home months after falling ill, he hears the sound of a mysterious engine coming to life.
