Megapolis is an city building game where you manage the finances of your own city and design and develop primary infrastructure. Trade materials and build alliances with neighbors. Challenge your friends to create the most successful city.
Develop Your City
The goal of Megapolis is to develop your own city from nothing. You begin by placing housing to attract people to the area, then start to add roads, electricity and water supplies.
The longer you play the more complex the game gets and you will be given more opportunities.
Tasks
As you proceed through the game tasks will appear on the left hand side of the screen. You simply click on it to open it, then a list of things to do will appear. You then check what needs to be done, click okay and head to the relevant section in the menu.
In one of the very first tasks you are required to build a wooden house and register new citizens in a residential building. To do this you would need to head to the 'buildings' part of the menu, then 'residential' and wooden house is one of the first options. You click on it, place where you want it to go and then it is gradually built. Almost instantly an icon appears above the house which lets you know that people wish to live there, you click on the icon and register them.
Contracts
As the game progresses pop up boxes will prompt you to start new contracts. An example of one of the contracts is the supply of fresh vegetables. Once you have opted to go ahead with the supply of fresh vegetables its completion takes some time, but once it is complete you can press on the contract to get your profit. There are many contracts varying from the produce of coffee beans to popcorn.
On completion of tasks and contracts you are rewarded with XP and Coins. The amount you get changes with each task you complete. See the Achievements section to find out more about XP and Coins.
Building Your City
The more housing you build the more people are attracted to your city. Whenever you spot the population icon hanging over a house, click on the icon to gather up some people to increase your population
The next step in building your city is to add infrastructure. This generates popularity amongst your residents and also allows you to collect taxes.
Your population increases as you continue to buy and place more water and electricity plants.
Resources
There are a lot of resources in Megapolis but only a handful are essential in order for your city to thrive:
Energy is vital in order for your city to progress. Ensure you have plenty of renewables around your area of land.
Money and Megabucks are the two resources that will be in shortest supply. Completing tasks and taxing your citizens is a quick way to make some dough. Money is replenished naturally throughout the game and you can make serious money through manufacturing however this can take up hours of real-world time. When 'Congratulations' messages pop up click the option to share with friends as this gives you extra rewards.
