Runners are similar to the common Biters, but are thought to be in an earlier stage of the infection, which makes them seem more like humans. Indeed, some trace of humanity remains, and often Runners can be heard trying to warn you away.
As the name implies, they move quickly, making them much more dangerous than common Biters.
