Drifter is a simulation game that takes place in space and lets the player explore a procedurally-generated world, with tens of thousands of star systems to explore. Players will be able to do many different things, like simply buying/selling goods, mining for ore, or even hunting down pirates as a bounty hunter.

Before starting the game
Make sure you've set the inner game options before starting a new game! Click the 'Options' button in the main menu and set music/SFX volume. Note that you won't be able to adjust these settings after starting a new game.
Controls and movement
- Use the keys 'D' and 'A' to turn right/left
- To accelerate, press 'W' on your keyboard.( You can keep pressing it to accelerate ). Space velocity maintains the ship at the initial speed, so you don't need to prevent friction by accelerating.
- If you reached an interesting location, feel free to press'S' and stop your ship and look around. Space traveling is free to everyone!
System map and menu
Click on the middle of the screen to see the main options.
The upper button tells you about your current ships. Everytime you buy a new spacecraft, you can ckeck here to see your improve.
The Milky-way shaped second button can be used to locate your position throughout your journey. A GPS-like system, based on astronomical lines that look like the meridians help you navigate easier through the Drifter Universe. Just click on a certain location on the map to zoom in and have a better view.
Click the Space Station button in the menu to acces the store. Here is a list with some of the elements you can buy, in order to regain energy\;
- Fruits and vegetables
- Synthetic food
- Meet
- Alchohol
- Water
- Spoo
- Precious metals
Equipement and munition
In the market, you can also find various types of munition, suc ah bullets, lasers, plasma cannons and different types of launchers.
Differents shields are available at different prices.
Some items are only available at a certain point in your journey.
Additional information
If you have trouble with asteroids or any other obstacle, press the 'space button' to fire up your lasers. Be careful not to use them to often, because your blue energy bar from the top of the screen will become smaller.
Press 'Z' to travel trough a wormhole to different locations.
