Fighter Within is a motion-based fighting game that uses the Xbox One's Kinect 2.0 to allow players to perform combat moves in real life and see them replicated in the game itself by a number of different playable characters (there will be 12 different characters in total, with the potential for DLC to add more).
Combat
The motion-controlled fighting experience has long been envisioned since Kinect's first reveal, but Fighter Within aims to be the first game to truly deliver on the potential. Fighter Within will provide '1 to 1 precision movement tracking', removing the input lag that has plagued Kinect-based fighting games to-date.
Players will be able to throw punches and kicks, and perform counters and combos and even special moves specific to their chosen character. By kicking or punching the air at the appropriate height, players punch or kick with their character in the game at that height. Aiming punches high, for example, will target the opponent's head.
Combo moves are accomplished by chaining attacks together (either 5 successful punches to an opponent or 3 successful kicks).
Players can also block an opponent's moves by raising your arms up in front of your face (as you would in a boxing match).
Character movement is also controlled by the player via Kinect. By leaning in towards the camera, or back away from it, a character will move forwards and backwards respectively.
Graphical Touches
The game aims to take advantage of the leap in graphics the new generation will provide for console games. The graphic engine will deliver and show wounds on characters as a result of the combat. Characters will also sweat and show detailed facial expressions.

Initiation Mode
Initiation Mode is Figther Within's version of a story mode found within many modern fighters. Utilizing the entire roster of characters available in the game, Initiation Mode blends storytelling and characterization with a tutorial-like set-up that allows players to learn how to play the game and the various unique features found in the combat before heading into the PvP arena if they so wish.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer has been confirmed, so players will be able to battle it out with their friends both in the same room, thanks to the inclusion of local competitive multiplayer, or online using Fighter Within dedicated online multiplayer mode.
