Tips and Strategies
Hot Spots
On the first few levels of Candy Blast Mania there is an opening tutorial that give a few hints and tips to help you progress through the levels, but the important things to watch for are hot spots. There are three different kinds.
First Hot Spot
If you wish to double the point value for the wanted candy on each level then activate the first hot spot. Match three or more and you will see the value increase for a single turn on these candies.
Second Hot Spot
The next hot spot (which I have found to be quite useful) eliminates all same colored candies from the play field (depending on which you have matched up). If you get rid of a row of green candies then all the remaining green ones will disappear until they start dropping in again. You will get these with match-four or more.
Third Hot Spot
Last, but not least, there is the row eliminators which are green in color and glow to catch your eye. Once you match three or more of these the vertical and horizontal rows will vanish and all the candies that are cleared you will get credit for! Earn these with a match-five or more.
Combining All Hot Spots
If you were to combine all three of these together (which is possible believe it or not) you will take out multiple candies at once meaning that you get closer to the goal and a heartier collection. Start from the bottom whenever possible as the candy that drops has a better chance of lining up for elimination.
Sugar Blast
The candy wand is good for eliminating solo pieces, but if you really want to go all out try the Sugar Blast. This destroys entire rows of candies and also does significant damage to jawbreakers. However, you only get to use this once or twice per stage so use it wisely.
Know your Power Ups and Boosters
Knowing what the power ups and boosters do to your game will allow you to pick the best one depending on where your up to in your individual game.
- The Candy Wand is handy when you are looking to clear out single pieces of candy.
- The Sugar Blast takes out entire rows of candies and also does some heavy damage to jawbreakers.
Knowing this will help you make the most of the power ups and boosts available.
Using your Power Ups and Boosters
If you do get stuck, try using your power ups allocated for each level. Candy Scoops are brilliant when you are out of moves, and the Candy Wand can remove specific candies from the board.
Multiply the Value of the Candy
It does not hurt to clear rows of four-or-more if you see them even if it is not a ‘wanted’ candy flavors stage. Doing this activates the ‘hot spots’ on the board as well as giving you the opportunity to multiply the value of the candy you wish to get rid of. By doing this at the beginning you can save the last of your turns for the candies you need the most so try your best to get it out the way.
Boss Battles
Boss battles are not nice, but they are inevitable. Pay attention to what candies you need to match up and get them as quickly as possible. The Gummi Bear King as soft as he sounds will stop at nothing to swamp your board with jawbreakers so fight against them and keep making key matches. In the first few rounds you have a good opportunity to practice against his moves but in later rounds you will need skill to defeat him.
When you come across a Boss just focus on the candies you have been given to destruct in your objectives and the rest should pan out.
Promotional Offers
Before spending any money keep an eye out for promotional offers. By signing in to Facebook you will get an additional 40 gems which in turn will allow you to buy more power-ups.
