Counter-Strike is an online first-person shooter game developed by Valve Software for the Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Xbox. Originally a mod for Half-Life by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess Cliffe, Valve eventually began to help in its development and bough the rights to it in 2000.
Multiplayer and mission oriented, this game revolutionized the first person shooter genre with its LAN and online matches and popularized it worldwide. Two teams: Terrorists and Counter Terrorists face each other in a variety of maps in missions ranging from rescuing hostages, to detonating a bomb or point based timed deathmatches.
