Marty O'Donnell is the Audio Lead for Bungie Studios and has been since 1999. During his career, he's worked on the Myth franchise, ONI, and is probably most well known for his work on the Halo franchise.
As a child Marty took piano lessons but always wanted to learn about Rock. He started a Rock Band in middle school but went on to study classical composition at Wheaton College Conservatory of Music. He later went on to get a Masters of Music from the University of Southern California. His music career began by writing jingles for commercials when he started his own company (with Michael Salvatori) called TotalAudio.
After a short while, he decided that he wanted to move on to something new and more cutting edge. This lead him to doing work on video games. He worked on a few games for Bungie Studios as well as working on Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator. Finally, during work on ONI in 1999, Marty was contacted by Bungie to renegotiate his contract. This renegotiation resulted in Marty joining the studio as the Audio Lead and he has remained in that position since.
Most recently, Marty has been working on Destiny, Bungie's newest game in a series that is expected to play out in eight installments over the next 10 years.
