Sony's eighth generation dedicated gaming handheld, the PlayStation Vita, has sold more than 10 million units worldwide since it first launched in December 2011. The PlayStation Vita hit the milestone for the week ending February 14, according to the VGChartz Weekly Chart.
The PlayStation Vita has sold 10,259,178 units worldwide as of the week ending March 21, 2015. The handheld has sold 2,096,078 units in the USA, 3,745,408 units in Japan, and 2,989,484 units in Europe. The Vita has sold 1,428,208 units in the rest of the world.
Looking at retail software sales, four games have sold more than one million units for the PlayStation Vita. Uncharted: Golden Abyss is the best-selling Vita game with sales of 1.43 million units. Assassin's Creed III: Liberation has sold 1.24 million units, while Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified has sold 1.22 million units. LittleBigPlanet Vita is the one other game to sell over one million units, with 1.08 million units sold.
The PlayStation Vita first launched in Japan on December 17, 2011. It was later released on February 15 in North America and February 22 in Europe.
