Splatoon Tops Japanese Charts, Wii U Sales More Than Double

Splatoon (Wii U) was the top-selling game in Japan for the week ending May 31, according to Media Create, as reported by Gematsu. The game sold 67,385 units last week.

Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX (3DS) debuted at number two with sales of 41,442 units. Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons tr. (PSV) debuted at number six with sales of 11,215 units. Downtown Nekketsu Jidaigeki (3DS) debuted at number seven with sales of 9,444 units.
Splatoon helped to more than double Wii U sales. The console sold 17,313 units, while the 3DS sold 17,636 units. The PlayStation Vita sold 12,517 units, the PlayStation 4 sold 12,272 units, and the PlayStation 3 sold 3,069 units. The Xbox One sold just 522 units.
