Harmonix has confirmed that PC gamers won’t be given the chance to rock out with the upcoming Rock Band 4.
Daniel Sussman of Harmonix has told Eurogamer that there are two main reasons for their avoidance of the platform: 1) They don’t’ feel that there are enough fans of the genre on the PC, and 2) Piracy concerns.
These concerns aren’t about the game being pirated per se, but rather about the licensed music featured in Rock Band 4. Unlike PlayStation and Xbox consoles, the PC is a more open platform, which makes it easier for people to pirate the licensed music that is featured in the game.
Rock Band 4 is set to release this upcoming holiday season on the PS4 and Xbox One.
