Nexon Revenue Up 16% to 42.7B Yen, Profits Triple

Publisher Nexon has released its earnings report for the second fiscal quarter, which ended June 30, 2015.

Revenue increased 16 percent year-over-year to 42.7 billion yen, while net income tripled to 13.0 billion yen. This was due to lower than expected tax expenses and favourable foreign exchange rates.

PC online revenue is up 14 percent year-over-year to 32.5 billion yen, while mobile game revenue increased 20 percent to 10.2 billion yen.

"Our solid second quarter results were driven by strong performance from both new and existing games," said Nexon CEO Owen Mahoney. "We saw impressive results from key existing titles in Korea, Dungeon&Fighter in China and our new title DomiNations in the U.S. and Europe, all of which are off to very strong starts in their respective geographies.

Looking ahead to the third quarter, Nexon expects revenue to be between 46.3 billion yen and 49.7 billion yen. Net income is expected to be between 12.9 billion yen and 15.3 billion yen.
