SEGA Delays Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice Until 2016 to Make Sure the Game is Polished

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice has been delayed until 2016, SEGA has announced in a blog post.

"In the grand scheme of things, while the downside is that you won’t be playing the game this year, the upside is that what you’ll play next year, and what fans will continue to play for years after they pick up the game, will be a stronger, more enjoyable experience," said SEGA. "We think that’s important, not just for this one game, but for all future Sonic titles."

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice has been delayed to "make sure the game has the time and polish needed". After the critical failure of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for the Wii U, which has a lowly Metacritic score of just 32, the delay is probably for the best.
