Retailer GameStop will no longer sell console bundles that come with digital games and from now on will now only sell bundles that come with physical copies of games.
The new strategy commenced with the release of Madden NFL 16 and the retailer has "worked with Sony, Microsoft and EA" to ensure physical bundles going forwards, according to Giant Bomb. However, if Sony or Microsoft decides to continue to pursue digital download bundles then GameStop will revert to selling physical bundles with "third party" games.
This move is motivated by GameStop's heavy reliance on the used games market as a source of revenue, which seems to have been hit by the trend towards digital download bundles.
