Voice Actors Vote To Strike

SAG-AFTRA Interactive Media has conducted a vote to strike among its members and 96.52 percent of them voted in favor of strike action.

A strike has not taken place yet, however the National Board now has the authority to declare a strike (75 percent of member had to vote in favor to give the National Board this authority).

"With this result in hand, the Negotiating Committee will seek to return to the bargaining table and continue to press for a fair resolution on behalf of performers working in video games," read the letter to members. "The Interactive Media Agreement expired on December 31, 2014. Bargaining sessions held in February and June of this year failed to produce an agreement."

The union is asking for a performance bonus for every two million units of a game sold or two million unique subscribers to an online-only game. There would be a cap at eight million.

Voice actors who voted in favor include Jennifer Hale, Wil Wheaton, Ashly Burch, David Hayter, Sarah Elmaleh, Steve Blum, Elias Toufexis, and Tara Strong.
