Riot announced earlier this week that it was banning G2A from sponsoring League of Legends eSports teams after it listed third party services which sell League of Legends accounts and offer ELO boosting services.
G2A has now released a defiant statement claiming that the ban is a damaging attack on the entire eSports community.
"[Riot has] launched an aggressive attack directed towards the entire global e-sports community in a failed attempt to dominate and control the industry," said G2A. Riot's email sent to G2A "has the ability to impact negatively on e-sporters, especially during this fabulous time when hopes are so high for great e-sports events."
G2A claims it tried to meet and work with Riot on a solution, however these efforts only led to "more and more demands" from Riot.
"This is Riot’s final word [for Worlds 2015] and it is so unfair for the e-sport community worldwide," said G2A.
