Following the latest series of reports stating that Hideo Kojima has left Konami and Kojima Productions, a Konami spokesperson has gone on record denying that this is the case.
The spokesperson, who talked with Tokyo Sports, claims that Kojima is in fact simply on vacation.
"Currently, Kojima is listed as a company employee [at Konami]... Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work," said the spokesperson.
"Because the development time for console games is so long and fatigue builds up, it’s common for employees to take extended periods of time off when development is finished."
Another anonymous source has told Kotaku that Kojima's contract ends this December.
