An epic game in every sense of the word. Take on the role of John Marston, an outlaw, left for dead and now seeking redemption. From the makers of the GTA series, we have a similar set up here. You can be a nice guy, or try and walk a thin line between the two or do what you can to upset the law. As you rack up the crimes, the level of pursuit will rise, from the local sheriff right up to the Texas Rangers. Bounty hunters will also get in on the act and as your reputation as a gunfighter grows, so does the chance that someone will want to try and take you on!
This is sandbox gaming at it's best and it's a classic in every sense of the word. Multiplayer is also nothing short of epic, and unlike other games where the novelty as it was, wears off and the lobby's empty, this still has a very very active online community (and long may it continue!)
Graphics are stunning, game play and immersive (and yes can be a little hard to master in parts) and the soundtrack is atmospheric and was available to download as a separate item in it's own right. And once John's tale ends, you play as his son. This latter section is a tad short if you just follow the plot but feel free to do all the exploring, gang busting, etc etc that you did as John Marston. (hunting and skinning included as well as horse races, yes you heard right, horse racing) With loads of mini games to play as well, this is one game that I come back to again and again.
