Hideo Kojima originally planned to attend The Game Awards 2015, however host Geoff Keighley just revealed live on the air that Kojima was instructed not to attend by Konami's lawyers.
This is just the latest, and perhaps most public example of the ongoing bust up between Kojima and Konami. The conflict between the famed developer and Konami came to a climax last month when the company closed down Kojima Productions LA.
There have also been reports that Kojima has left the firm. However, Konami has denied those reports (and indeed events tonight suggest that this particular denial is true) and claims that Kojima is still with Konami, though for how much longer remains to be seen.
