Vivendi has announced that it has sold its remaining 41.5 million shares (5.7% of the publisher's total) in Activision Blizzard for $1.1 billion, allowing Vivendi to recover a cash deposit of $0.4 billion. This completes Vivendi's two year long sell off of Activision Blizzard shares from its previous majority stake.
The reason given for the sale of its stake in Activision Blizzard is due to the "evolution of the Activision Blizzard stock price."
Vivendi made waves late last year when it bought substantial stakes in Ubisoft and Gameloft, much to Ubisoft's chagrin.
