The first half of Konami's Metal Gear Solid V duology, Ground Zeroes, will be releasing Spring 2014 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Konami announced today. Ground Zeroes serves as a prequel to the events of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which does not currently have any release date information.
Ground Zeroes follows Big Boss as he infiltrates a Cuban prison camp as part of a rescue mission and will include "explosive plot lines". It runs using the FOX Engine, which is touted to highlight "the groundbreaking capabilities that the FOX Engine brings to current and next generation consoles."
The game will be available digital only for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but will be available both digitally and at retail for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The digital Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will cost $30 USD (£30 in the UK), while the retail versions on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will cost $30 USD (£30 in the UK) and the digital versions will cost $20 (£20 in the UK).
