It's being reported that Ubisoft are set to release two separate Assassin's Creed titles next year. But before you start rushing to the conclusion that Ubisoft are invariably milking the franchise a little bit too much, hear the proposal out first:
One will be for what are now termed last generation consoles - presumably the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - whilst the other will be solely for the now current generation platforms - the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One - which will allow for better optimisation for the respective platforms.
There's no word on where the PC and Wii U fit into all this, however, other than that the site goes on to say that "this does not mean the Wii U was left out, the source simply didn't clarify platform specifics."
Examiner are also reporting that their source claims the series is "under a massive re-scope" going forwards, so big changes could be afoot for the Assassin's Creed franchise.
