Red Barrels have announced the release date for their story-themed DLC for their critically acclaimed horror game Outlast. It will be available for PC and PlayStation 4 on May 6th for North America and May 7th for Europe (on PS4). Red Barrels have stated it will cost $8.99 in North America - pricing has not yet been confirmed for Europe.
Outlast: Whistleblower puts you in the shoes of Waylon Park, the man who emailed the protagonist Miles in the main campaign. Park is allowed access to Mount Massive as a software engineer to spend a few weeks. While there he develops a deep distrust of the scientists who conduct foul and inhuman experiments on the asylum patients, which prompts him to email many journalists, including Miles.
We immensely enjoyed our time with Outlast, citing its incredible atmosphere, sound design, and called it a "shining example of the horror genre"; hopefully Whistleblower can continue the trend.
