Yoshida: It's Not About Individual Vita Games Any More

In perhaps the most direct admission of surrender for original software development for the PlayStation Vita, Shuhei Yoshida has expressed that the value in the Vita going forward will not be about "individual Vita games" but about its other uses.

The full quote Yoshida gave Eurogamer is: "There are lots of new Vita games, you can go and find little gems and there are lots of exciting games, but it's not about individual Vita games any more. It's more about how Vita can have multiple uses - with PS4 remote play, PS3 games with PS Now, and the dedicated games. The whole ecosystem with PS4 at the centre, the Vita's a part of that."

The interview contains other interesting tidbits, including that 17% of PS4 owners didn't own any last gen console and 32% didn't own a PS3, according to Nielsen's research, implying some impressive audience growth. Head over to Eurogamer for the full interview.
