Erk is a secondary character in Fire Emblem, and makes minor appearences in the DLC and SpotPass content of Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Erk is a quiet, though often sarcastic, young mage, and the pupil of the Etrurian Magic General, Lord Pent. As part of his training, he took on temorpary service as a mercenary bodyguard. During his time filling this role for Serra, he encounters Lyn and gets drawn into her conflict. After Lundgren's defeat, Erk became the escort of Priscilla. During his time in this position, he encountered Eliwood's army and got drawn into the conflict with Nergal.
