Anastacia of Astora is the Fire Keeper of Firelink Shrine in Dark Souls. Found beneath the Firelink Shrine bonfire, she is mute and imprisoned behind some bars. Despite all this, she can still aid the player by reinforcing their Estus Flask to heal for more HP.
A long time ago, Anastacia did something "impure" and was punished by having her tongue cut out. Suggested that she choose her own banishment and imprisonment, she moved to Lordran where she resides. If the player releases Knight Lautrec of Carim from his prison in the Undead Parish, he will kill Anastacia for her Fire Keeper Soul. The player can then challenge him in Anor Londo as a Spirit of Vengeance to retrieve and return her soul.
