The Protagonist is the player controlled character in the Saints Row series. Due to this, the character does not have a name, as it is chosen by the character, and starting with Saints Row 2, the player can change their appearance and gender (the images used is the default settings in Saints Row IV).
At the beginning of the Saints Row, the Protagonist is caught in the middle of a turf war between the gangs and ends up getting recruited by the 3rd Street Saints. He works his way up in the gang and eventually becomes the temporary leader before being put into a coma thanks to an explosion. The Protagonist rebuilds the gang once again, to the point where they are famous during the events of Saints Row the Third. Things go very well for the Saints, where the Protagonist ends up becoming the President of the United States, although he is kidnapped by aliens and put into a simulation.
