Kurtis is a playable character who works under General Carter and the Earth Defense Force, like Captain Gordon, in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Kurtis lost his family and 70% of his body when a group of terrorists destroyed the building where he and his family lived. Having his parts replace with robotic ones, Kurtis resented Gordon, who was suppose to defend Earth, and views himself the true holder of the title Defender of Earth.
Kurtis is a brilliant scientist, whose intelligence and technical knowledge rival Jennifer's. When Kurtis sacrifices himself to save Jennifer, he becomes a green prinny and stores some of his old cyber parts in his pouch.
In Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, Kurtis returns in his Prinny incarnation as the 38th Defender of Earth. He was also added as a DLC character in Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice and an unlockable boss in Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten.
