Weapons are an important part of Insect Armageddon, and there are 6 different types of weapons. They are Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Missile Launchers, Rocket Launchers, and Grenade Launchers. Each armor type seems to be more proficient with a certain weapon type.

Weapons are unlocked in one of two ways in Insect Armageddon. Elite enemies, when killed, sometimes drop weapon boxes, which will yield a random weapon (from weapons that can drop) upon picking it up; note that you can pick up a weapon for another armor type. The other method of unlocking weapons involves leveling up armor types, which will offer weapons to buy with money with each new Tier that is reached.

There are two DLC packs for Insect Armageddon, available on XBox Live and PSN, which offer 15 weapons each for the various armor types. Both are available for 240 Microsoft Points, and $3 on PSN each. The Pounds of Pain DLC gives 8 new weapons to the Battle armor, 3 weapons to the Tactical armor, and 4 weapons to the Trooper armor. The Death from Above DLC gives 8 new weapons to the Jet armor, 3 weapons to the Tactical armor, and 4 weapons to the Trooper armor. Note that the new weapons are of various Tiers, so one might need to level up before they're able to use them.
