Squall Lionhart is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy VIII. A young mercenary from a elite group known as SeeD, he is first seen as a cold, focused and quiet character. The game's events makes Squall rethink the way he has chosen to live his life, and he matures into a heroic and caring swordsman. His weapon of choice is the Gunblade.
