
The Square Company, Limited was a Japanese video game company founded in September 1983. It merged with Enix Corporation in 2003 to become Square Enix.
Square produced a number of highly successful franchises, mostly RPGs, including Final Fantasy, Chrono, World of Mana, SaGa, Parasite Eve and Kingdom Hearts.
