Powerups
Find the slightly off color trees that are not initially destroyed by your ships fire power They are usually located on the right side of the screen Approach these trees and keep firing into them until they explode Capture the pixie that flies out of the explosion When your ship is destroyed a group of powerups will be released
Free play mode
Enter the adjust settings menu from the main menu Select the quotMiscellaneousquot option and highlight the quotCredit Limitquot selection Hold Square Circle Triangle X The phrase quotFree Playquot will appear to confirm correct code entry If the game settings are saved free play mode will also be included
Sixteen credits
Set the credits to nine and start the game using controller two Immediately press Start on controller one when player twos ship launches Allow player twos ship to be lost Player one will now have sixteen credits
Unlimited continues Japanese version
Press Select during the game over countdown
Mission select
Enter the difficulty menu from the settings menu Hold R1 R2 L1 L2 Start
Hidden options
Hold R1 R2 L1 L2 during a game to display a hidden options menu The screen resolution position and other options may be adjusted
Demo control
Hold L1 to control the ship during the Raiden I demonstration Hold R2 to control the ship during the Raiden II demonstration
