The basic gameplay structure of Sly 3 follows that of Sly 2: Band of Thieves. Each episode is split into individual missions/jobs, which is a setup for a final job that culminates in a boss fight.
New to the game are additional characters to play as, besides Sly, Murray and Bentley. These new characters play a lot differently than those above, adding a different perspective on the game.
OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER/CHALLENGES
As you up your game completion percentage, mini-games that can be played by two players offline will be unlocked. There are a total of 4 throughout the game, which are played in splitscreen mode. In addition, there are certain challenges that can be played in each episode, which are parts of the specific jobs with specific rules.
LOOT
In Sly 2, loot that is collected from pickpocketing guards could be sold at the safehouse. In this game, loot is automatically sold and the coins are added to your overall count, meaning you don't need to sell them. Likewise, Murray and Bentley are now able to pickpocket as well.
3-D
Included with every Playstation 2 copy of the game was a pair of 3-D glasses. There were certain sections of the game where the game was in 3-D, which was completely optional. Some were in 3-D from the beginning, with certain objects only viewable in 3-D.
