Tales of Destiny 2 like past Tales games handles traveling the world like normal rpgs, with towns dungeons, towns, and a condensed overworld as standard norms for the game in general. Though skits and the way they handle their menu screens are slight differentiators.
Battle System
Tales of Destiny 2 uses a new version of the standard tales battle system called the Trust and Tactical Linear Motion Battle System. This system encourages the player to tactically consider ever move they though as they have a SP meter that decreases based on most actions you and only refills if you stand still or defend. TP is still used for artes though it refills automatically like SP it can still be filed quickly with gels.
Artes
In the tales series Artes are used to dish out extra damage aside from typical character combos. In general these abilities are learned over the course of the game by leveling and in some cases side events. Moves are usually designated to one button and 4 artes can be mapped Linking these moves with your normal combos is the bread and butter of the Tales series in terms of being offensive.
Enchant and Refine
The enchant and refine system in Tales of destiny 2 allows for a deeper custimization as character skills are used to increase the power of certain skills and weapons to allowing certain spells to last longer. Or say a healing items potency could be increased by sacrificing a few lesser items.
