May 2011 - ArmA III was officially announced. It was also announced that the game would be built around the new Real Virtuality 4 engine.
August 2012 - Ivan Buchta announced at Gamescom that they expected to release a community Alpha in December.
September 2012 - two czech employees of Bohemia Interactive were arrested in Greece and charged with espionage (under Greek law taking photographs of military installations and the like is strictly prohibited for reasons of national security). The two men claimed to be working for Bohemia Interactive in an official capacity, recording videos and taking photographs for the development of ArmA III.
September 2012 - the Iranian government announced that it was banning ArmA III.
